# Discourse

> How to integrate with Discourse. This explains the full process, from getting an API key through to completing the integration.

## Prerequisites

### Getting your API key

1. After logging in to Discourse, select **Admin** from the left sidebar.

2. Expand **Advanced**, then select **API keys**.

3. On the **API keys** screen, click **Add API key**.

4. Enter any **Description**, set **User level** to **All users** and **Scope** to **Global**, then click **Save**.

5. Copy and save the API key shown. The API key is shown only on this screen, so be sure to save it now.

## Setting up the integration

1. On the integration screen, search for **Discourse**.

2. Enter the API key from the previous step, then click **Connect**.

3. Once the integration with Discourse succeeds, registered user information appears in the account list. If it doesn't complete successfully, first try the steps in [Troubleshooting failed SaaS integrations](/en/it-management/saas-management/93nahw45is-trouble).
