# Deleted Google Analytics users remain

> Explains why Google Analytics accounts continue to appear after deletion.

#### **Issue overview**

After you delete an account in Google Analytics, the account may still appear during a sync. This also applies when you remove a Google Analytics account from this service. In either case, the sync may trigger a notification that treats the account as retired.

#### **Cause**

Google Analytics retains properties and views within an account for 35 days before deleting them. During this period, the account information remains visible.

#### **Workaround**

Retirement alerts continue to fire until the account is fully deleted. Use the [mute feature](/en/it-management/retired/j61yplowpw-mute) to suppress these alerts until then.
