Overview

This feature provides comprehensive capabilities to centrally manage IT assets. It strengthens security and improves efficiency by supporting key processes throughout the device lifecycle.

Workflow: From Device Registration to Utilization

  1. Preparation
  2. Initial registration (creating the device ledger) For details, see Register a Device.
  3. Operations, assignment, and status management For details, see Manage Device Usage and History.
  4. Periodic review and audit preparation

Preparation

  • Plan the migration of your device ledger If you manage records elsewhere, plan the migration approach.
  • Design your management fields Decide which device attributes you want to track. You can also customize management fields.
  • Define internal operational rules Clarify who assigns devices, when, and to whom. Establish processes for returns and disposal. Set quality rules for ongoing operations, such as verifying device status monthly.

Periodic Review and Audit Preparation

  • Visualize usage
Get a full overview of who holds which devices, current inventory counts, and any devices under repair. This makes it possible to prepare a ledger suitable for internal audits (for example, ISMS). When conducting an inventory, also refer to Conduct an Inventory.
  • Export the device ledger
Export the device list as a CSV. Run operational checklists regularly to identify missing registrations, unassigned devices, or incomplete disposals.
  • Manage disposal and redeployment
Track the device lifecycle through end-of-use and disposal. When moving to “Disposed / Cancelled” status, verify physical retrieval, data erasure, and updates.
